THE X Factor reaches the boot camp stage tonight, with the latest bunch of pop wannabes all praying it will be their ticket to everlasting glory.

WINNERS: HEAR' SAY's old one million copies of their debut single Pure And Simple, then it all turned sour and they split 18 months later. Popstars rejects Liberty X were labelled Flopstars, but have enjoyed far more success than their rivals.

KYM MARSH KYM, 30, flopped as a solo singer, but has risen from Hear'Say ashes as an actress in Coronation Street. Married to former EastEnder Jack Ryder.

NOEL SULLIVAN NOEL, 26, has found success on stage, touring in shows such as Grease and Fame. Recently appeared on TV's Trust Me I'm A Holiday Rep.

MICHELLE HEATON THE most fame-hungry of Liberty X, Michelle, 26, has appeared in a string of reality TV shows, including the universally panned Celebrity Wrestling.

THE show pitted a girl band managed by Louis Walsh against a boy band guided by Pete Waterman. Girls Aloud won - hands down. They are now the UK's most successful all-girl group with 12 consecutive Top 10 hits and three best-selling albums.

The most high-profile band member is Cheryl Tweedy, 23, who married Chelsea's Ashley Cole this summer. She is also a favourite pin-up in lads' mags, as is 24-year-old Kimberley Walsh.

Lucky old Nadine Coyle, 21, is dating Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe. Nicola Roberts, 20, is still with her long-term boyfriend, Carl Egerton. Sarah Harding, 24, is the only singleton...

Javine Hylton, 24, who just failed to make it into Girls Aloud, launched a solo career with mixed success. She has just signed a new record deal with dance label Positiva and is currently starring in Daddy Cool in the West End.

Daniel Pearce, 27, has achieved most since then. He made his West End debut in Jailhouse Rock and worked as a drummer with Lemar, Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden.

Jamie Shaw, 21, has appeared on Welsh reality TV show Cariad@Laith and spent the last year gigging in Germany. Anton Gordon, 23, and Matthew Johnson, 20, both auditioned for The X Factor, but failed to make the boot camp.

Still, Lynsey Brown, 23, Aimee Kearsley, 20, and Emma Beard, 22, are soldiering on. Their latest effort, Lucky Like That, released independently last June, only made it to No.55. And their album reached the dire position of No.258.

None are currently in the music biz. Peter Smith, 29, was last heard of working in a bank. Nikk Mager, 22, and Mikey Green, 25 - famous for a romance with Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding - have both enjoyed success as male models.

WITH two Brit awards, two sell-out tours and three top-selling albums, 27-year-old Will (above) is the most successful artist of all the musical reality TV shows. He beat Gareth Gates and the other finalists to win the first Pop Idol.

GARETH GATES THE Pop Idol runner-up sold three million singles before Sony BMG dumped him. Now with Meridien Musik, the 22-year-old's "working on new material".

DARIUS DANESH HIS debut single hit number one and his album went platinum. The 26-year-old has also played Billy Flynn in the West End's Chicago.

ZOE BIRKETT ZOE'S debut single Treat Me Like a Lady flopped and she was dumped her record label. The 21-year-old starred in panto at Darlington Civic Theatre last year.

ROSIE RIBBONS THE Welsh lass, 23, went on to support Blue and Liberty X on tour. But after her first two singles flopped, she was dropped by Telstar.

AARON BAYLEY DUBBED the People's Champion, Geordie train driver Aaron, 30, now has his own band and record label. He's also proud dad to son Presley.

HAYLEY EVETTS PLAYED Sandra Dee in the West End's Grease and the 30-year-old went on to be a host of the ITV2 spin-off for Popstars: The Rivals.

JESSICA GARLICK THE 25-year-old came third representing the UK at Eurovision 2002, is releasing a single next year and will be at Wembley's Girl Guides' Big Gig next month.

RIK WALLER RIK'S Mighty Soul Band played the summer season at Butlin's. Which is more success than the 32-stone lad had on Celebrity Fit Club - where he was booted off.

CHRIS HIDE THE vicar lives on... with a raunchy(ish) new image. Chris, 21, gigs up and down the country (albeit at small venues and under-18s nights).

SUSANNE MANNING THE committed Christian, 24, wed rocker Andrew Courtney and took her husband's surname. She co-hosts Radio Berkshire's breakfast show.

BRIAN ORMOND THE blond Irishman, 27, has done panto and now fronts Saturday morning Irish kids' TV show Sattitude. He dotes on his six-year-old daughter, Chloe.

KIM GEE THE plump mum-of-three, 26, was never really a contender. She returned home to Grimsby and now presents her own show on local radio station Compass FM.

FIRST single, Against All Odds, hit No.1, but then it all went a bit - flat for Steve, 37 (above). His latest single released this month flopped - but he has an album, 40,000 Things, out and is on a national tour.

ROWETTA SATCHELL SHE secured a record deal after the show and released a self-titled album. The 40-year-old is currently working on new material and plans to release a second album soon.

TABBY CALLAGHAN TABBY, 25, is currently touring with his band The Tsars. He has a new record deal and a single Take A Swing is due to be released next month.

ROBERTA HOWETT MAKING music which can be heard via her myspace page, Roberta, 25, still found the time to plug a brand of razors, shaving her legs in the street for the cause.

CASSIE COMPTON THE little girl with the big voice, Cassie, 19, is now acting. She was in Little Women and panto last year and is set to appear in BBC1's Casualty.

VERITY KEAYS GONE back to being a singing coach but Verity, 52, still performs sometimes. Her last show was in June when she sang in aid of Grimsby's Cambridge Park School.

VOICES WITH SOUL THE lasses from Luton are still going... although not filling arenas. The mum, daughter and auntie are available for private parties. An album is in the pipeline, apparently.

G4 THEY lost out to Steve Brookstein, but the operatic quartet were the real winners of X Factor. Their debut album went to No.1 on Mother's Day last year. Their third album is due for release this Christmas.

2TOGO MAINLY remembered for not being very good. Their ultra-glam highlight of I 2006 was topping the bill ' at Mansfield Council's celebration of the opening of the town's new-look marketplace.

CHENAI ZINYUKU THE 20-year-old released her debut single Reason recently. Hit the news earlier this month after revealing she'd had her drink spiked on a night out.

ANDY ABRAHAM HIS debut album went to number two but now it's all gone rather flat for Andy, 42. Ticket sales for his October tour have been poor.

MARIA LAWSON SIGNED with Sony but her summer single, Sleepwalking, only reached No.20 in the charts. Her debut album failed to break the Top 40 too.
