Within minutes of being subbed in, freshmen Julia Gamlen and Dayna Dumont both chased a ball into the box. But it was Dumont who headed the ball into the net in the 36th minute for the Aggies’ second goal.
Leading 2-1 at halftime, UC Davis came out hard again in the second half and scored in the 59th minute when senior Lindsey Raymond delivered the ball to McAllister, who kicked it in from 22 yards out to give the Aggies a 3-1 lead and their highest scoring game of the season.
But junior Katie Snyder responded in the 78th minute by striking a free kick from 40 yards out off a Matador defender and into the net, giving UC Davis a 4-2 lead.
Lauren Baer scored for the Anteaters in the 64th minute, dribbling through the Aggie defense and past senior goalkeeper Krystyn Lizak to escort the ball into the net.
But the soft Aggies may be a thing of the past. The hardcore Aggies took the field Sunday against Cal State Northridge decorated with temporary tattoos.
Junior Roxanne Croze and freshman Stephanie Schmidt wore their tattoos on their necks while sophomore goalkeeper Megan Daws sported a barbed wire tattoo going around her leg.
